Reviews
Spent the weekend at Bungonia campground and hiked into Bungonia Slot Canyon (Red track). Absolutely spectacular in the canyon and a great challenging hike. Campground is vast with a pretty awesome enclosed camp kitchen which was a delight during the hot weather. Kitchen equipped with gas cooking and sinks. Bathrooms are big with a couple of hot water showers. We loved our weekend stay.
A wonderful National Park to visit. It's approximately 2 hours southwest of Sydney. Not far from the historic inland city of Goulburn. Has walking tracks graded from easy-moderate to strenuous. The lookouts over Bungonia Gorge offer wonderful views, and several are wheelchair accessible. The park offers toilet and barbecue facilities, no retail outlets, but does have a very good camping ground (for a fee). There is also an entry fee into the park.
The red track down the slot canyon is AMAZING! Working through the boulder field was a lovely problem to solve, and the sights and sounds were simply magical. The way out is a bit confusing, be sure to just carry on downstream until a large sign points the way to the track up. A beautiful trip that is well worth doing for anyone fit and experienced.
This is an amazing place that is a truly Australian national park.
We did the red track and missed the turn to come up the hill, so we spent a lot more time in the canyon than we were supposed to. It was super hot and we got quite dehydrated, so be careful down there.
The campground and facilities were amazing!
Beautiful park, 2 to 2h30 drive from Sydney, and not too crowded. Amazing scenery and beautiful hikes, particularly the Red Track is challenging but definitely worth it!
absolutely awesome. totally worth the visit. If you are scared of heights I would perhaps hold onto the rail as you can see through the grate right to the bottom of the gorge. It is magnificent though.
A spectacular Gorge with a variety of well considered walking paths to allow worthy exploration. Very accessible and a nice drive to get here too.
We did a quick green track hike on our Syd-Melb drive. This is an amazing park and lots to explore. Definitely will be back for an overnight camping to try other hiking tracks. The ranger was helpful and the park looks well maintained. $8 fee was worth it.
